Description

The system gives designers incredible flexibility to create linear texture by customising a range of variables such as material, size, shape and spacing.

Battens are simply push-clicked onto mounting tracks that are positioned behind the battens in a concealed manner. The tracks are fixed to the substrate prior to clipping on the battens.

Acoustic infills

-

Manufacturer guidance

Our ceiling batten system provides a perfect opportunity to introduce acoustic performance into your space. The system does this by utilising the batten spacing for acoustic diffusion in conjunction with our proprietary acoustic backing board that is positioned above the battens. By adding any available acoustic batts above our acoustic backing board the acoustic performance will be increased.

Track system

-

Manufacturer guidance

Mounting track is available in four different options, each suiting a particular application.

Fire protection

Group 3 rated.

Manufacturer guidance

All untreated timber achieves a Group 3 rating according to the requirements of AS/NZS 3837-1998 and AS 5637.1-2015 for use as wall and ceiling linings, as per NCC 2019 (Volume 1).

Combustibility

-

Manufacturer guidance

Timber is deemed combustible under AS 1530.1-1994. If your project requires a non-combustible material please refer to our aluminium range.

MaintenanceLevel

-

Manufacturer guidance

Interior timber typically does not need maintenance.

Length

-

Manufacturer guidance

Timber battens are available in a range of length options to suit on-site needs

Access panel

-

Manufacturer guidance

Our batten system allows several options when dealing with access requirements. These methods are similar for solid timber battens and aluminium battens. Battens are usually cut on site to ensure the required panel dimensions. Timber and aluminium battens require different cutting techniques and it is important to use the correct equipment and blades.

End treatment

Tongue and groove

Manufacturer guidance

End matching is a small tongue and groove profile on the ends of the battens. When engaged, these profiles help to maintain batten alignment at the butt joins. If your battens are cut to increment, cut the tongue off the first batten where butting to a wall, or the ends will be visible.
