Elastic Spaces for Elastic Minds - Designing Neuroinclusive Workplaces
Bureau Booths UK Limited
This presentation examines how workplace design can better support cognitive diversity and changing ways of working. The session explores why fixed, one-size-fits-all environments often fall short, and how flexibility, choice, and environmental control can improve focus, comfort, and wellbeing across a broad range of users. The CPD draws on current research and real workplace examples to explain how acoustics, lighting, privacy, spatial layout, and sensory load influence concentration, stress, and interaction. Neurodiversity is explored through a practical design lens, focusing on how environments can support different ways of thinking and working.Attendees will gain clear, applicable design considerations that can be used across workplace projects of any scale, supporting the creation of adaptable, inclusive, and people-focused spaces.
