Transforming an Oxfordshire home with new windows

OVERVIEW

Originally built in 1859, this Victorian property in Oxfordshire was transformed into a beautiful family home.

The windows were replaced as part of a larger renovation project. The new sash windows needed to be in keeping with the traditional appearance of the property, while also being energy efficient and keeping out draughts.

In addition to replacing various sash windows at the property, The Sash Window Workshop also replaced some new casement windows.

In total 21 new windows and doors were installed, alongside 21 pairs of new sashes (the moving parts) into existing window frames.

Accoya wood was used for the new windows and doors, as this timber is highly stable and durable, meaning that minimum maintenance is required.

The work was carried out in several phases to align with the progress of the larger renovation project on the property.

The windows were all bespoke, meaning that a high level of attention to detail was required. This was especially important where new sashes were installed, as they had to fit perfectly to allow the window to open smoothly.

Upon completion, the customer commented that the windows and doors have helped transform the property into a welcoming home.

The Sash Window Workshop specialise in traditional timber windows and doors. Where necessary, The Sash Window Workshop can comply with Conservation Area and listed building requirements.
