OVERVIEW
Easiaccess supplied and installed two modular metal access ramps with a platform and a step system at Thames Water Utilities’ Beckton Sewage Treatment Works in Barking. The system was required to provide safe access to a newly installed welfare unit used by employees on site.
Following a site survey, a tailored modular access solution was designed to suit the busy industrial environment and the anticipated use of the access route for both pedestrian traffic and the movement of equipment into the building. The installation incorporated the Easitread Rubber Crumb surface, providing a durable, low-slip, self-draining finish with excellent impact absorption, making it well suited to high footfall and industrial conditions.
The system included compliant balustrade handrails and level walkway handrails, ensuring adherence to Building Regulations while maintaining a safe and accessible route to the welfare facilities. The design featured twin ramps with intermediate landings and a main platform, allowing safe and comfortable access for employees and visitors.
The system was installed efficiently within the live operational site, providing a compliant, durable and professional access solution with minimal disruption to site operations.
