Al Wasl Plaza

Al Wasl Plaza served as the central hub of Dubai Expo 2020 and continues to stand as the heart of Expo City. Surrounded by a decorative garden and five elegantly designed buildings, the Plaza exemplifies the Expo's core theme: "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future."

Designed by the acclaimed Chicago-based architecture firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, the project demanded a balance between aesthetic impact and technical precision. The architectural brief called for an environment where the iconic dome and garden remained the visual centerpiece—requiring the surrounding three office buildings and two hotels to complement the space without overpowering it.
