OVERVIEW
Solid oak hexagonal parquet graces new workplace design
No less than three different Junckers oak floors have been selected for an innovative new workplace in the Danish capital. PHL Arkitekter has designed an inspiring and elegant new headquarters for AP Pension with the aim to support and foster collaboration and wellbeing.
The interior features open, flexible spaces that promotes interaction and collaboration among employees as well as the wider community. Drawing inspiration from the Nordhavn
area’s industrial heritage the building’s form and materiality create a perfect balance between elegance and function. Central to the design is the use of Junckers’ Hexparket in
the lounge and common areas, Twin Herringbone laid in a classic square basket pattern and oak plank flooring along organic-shaped walkways and open spaces.
Junckers' flooring was selected not only for its aesthetic contribution, but also for its sustainable credentials. As a durable, natural material, solid wood contributes to a healthy
indoor climate while reinforcing the building’s long-term environmental ambitions.
