Easy Glass Prime, Fire-rated Balconies, Deanston Wharfe

Deanston Wharf, a development of 769 homes and 1,125sqm of commercial floorspace by Oxley Holdings & Ballymore in London. Q-railing supplied the trusted fire-rated system Easy Glass Prime for the high-rise residential balconies.

Since first launch in 2022, Q-railing has supplied over 5000 linear metres of fire-rated balconies. These systems incorporate innovative laminated glass developed in collaboration with safety glass specialists, ensuring compliance without compromising on transparency or design integrity. The balustrades are based on Q-railing’s popular Easy Glass Prime & Strong systems, while the Juliet balconies draw inspiration from the Easy Glass View system, ensuring aesthetic consistency across applications. 

Performance and Compliance

Beyond fire safety, Q-railing’s systems meet and exceed other critical standards:

• Impact Resistance: Fully impact-rated to BS EN 12600 class 1B1, ensuring durability and safety under stress. 
• Load Testing: Tested to achieve 0.74kN/m and 1.5kN/m line loads for residential use, with bespoke options available for higher load requirements. 
• Design Standards: Conformity with BS 6180:2011 and BS 8579:2020, addressing wind mitigation and sightline considerations. 
• Installation and Maintenance: Designed for ease of installation with fully adjustable components and available in various finishes, including optional powder coating and anodised options.
