Project Summary:

To mark the European Football Championship 2024, SYNLawn Europe delivered one of the largest temporary turf installations in its history, transforming Berlin’s iconic “Straße des 17. Juni” into a green hub for sports, culture, and community. Situated directly in front of the Brandenburg Gate, the 24,000 m² artificial turf installation formed the centerpiece of the “Fan Zone Berlin,” welcoming football fans, families, tourists, and Berliners alike. The space hosted concerts, cinema screenings, cultural events, and public viewings throughout the tournament period (June 14 to July 14), with the turf freely accessible for leisure activities during off-times. This installation not only met high aesthetic and functional expectations for such a central and high-traffic location - it also exemplified sustainable event planning.
