Greenhouse, Leeds

OVERVIEW

In 2010, Protech where approached by The Clegg Group for a renovation project of an eight storey 1930’s building.

Originally known as Shaftesbury House, the building was opened in 1938 to house migrant workers in Leeds that had previously been living in appalling conditions. The development had deteriorated and was eventually closed and boarded up in 1998. As part of a regeneration programme of the area, Leeds City Council co ordinated the redevelopment of the site into what is now known as Greenhouse, a mixed-use block of eco-flats.
