New Build: Alpin Royal Casino

OVERVIEW

With the Alpin Royal Casino, the long-established Castle Casino celebrates its comeback following its relocation to Schaan, Liechtenstein. The new building elegantly combines gaming, indulgence, and hospitality: two bars, an upscale restaurant, and a hotel with 29 rooms and 5 suites create a stylish all-round experience for guests from the region and beyond. The spacious gaming area extends across two floors, offering both slot machines and classic live games. With its opening, the Alpin Royal Casino becomes one of the five licensed casinos in Liechtenstein and sets new standards in the entertainment sector with its modern design.

Complex Requirements for Planning and Construction

This construction project posed significant challenges in terms of planning, logistics, and execution, as the hotel, casino, and catering areas were all to be completed simultaneously and within a tight schedule. This required close coordination across all trades and a high degree of flexibility – particularly regarding numerous bespoke solutions in the hotel sector. For this demanding project, the Lindner Group supplied tailor-made flooring solutions that contribute to the quality of the building both functionally and aesthetically.

Flexible Flooring Systems for Technical Infrastructure

Among the systems used was the NORTEC raised floor system, which offers high load-bearing capacity and design flexibility. The floor panels can also be opened at any point as needed, allowing for easy maintenance of cabling or piping. The system’s non-combustible classification and its environmentally safe composition were further reasons for its use in this high-traffic area with stringent safety requirements.

In addition, LIGNA engineered wood panels were installed – a lightweight, easy-to-handle raised floor system based on wood-based materials, noted for its precise fit. In the restaurant, hotel rooms, and both bars in particular, the flooring system, with its various wood or textile surfaces, creates a natural and warm atmosphere.

For areas with higher requirements in terms of stability and walking comfort – such as heavily frequented zones or areas with demanding surface finishes – the FLOOR and more® hollow floor system was used.

In moisture-prone areas, such as the bathrooms in the hotel, the special HYDRO system was installed – a dry hollow floor made from highly compressed cement fibreboards, whose water-repellent properties make it especially suitable for wet rooms.
