Design

• Architects envisaged a large yellow façade as the standout visual feature of the new leisure centre
• Façade designed to align with the curved profile of the building to create a ‘wave effect’
• Maple recommended expanded mesh panels, powder-coated in signal yellow, to bring the architect’s concept to life

Manufacture

• Maple teams fine-tuned the design, liaising closely with the metal supplier and steelwork contractor
• Expanded mesh rolled to create the precise curved profile required by the architect’s brief
• Samples supplied to approve panel design and powder-coating colour

Installation

• Specialist brackets used to achieve the clean lines required by the brief
• Maple’s experienced installation team rated 10/10 by the main contractor for health and safety
• Installation of the architectural façade completed ahead of schedule

Did You Know?

The new White Oaks Leisure Centre replaces a tired 1960s building and was Sevenoaks District Council’s largest project in more than 30 years. It includes a 25m swimming pool, multi-purpose sports hall, fitness suite, activity studio and café.
