A pour-in-place system to be injected in cavity walls in construction. The system can be processed using high- or low-pressure machines or manually.
Features and benefits:
- The product is free of ingredients with high global warming potential by greenhouse effect (GWP) affected by the regulation (EU) No 517/201.
- CE marked to EN 14318-1:2013.
- Shelf life of components: component A: three months, component B: six months.
- KIWA (BDA) Certified.
The system can be processed using high- or low-pressure machines or manually. This process consists on the injection of a mixture of the two components by means of a suitable machine into the cavity to insulate.
Machine conditions:
- Mixing ratio of components: 1:1 (volume).
- Component temperatures: +18 to +22ºC (High-pressure injection machines and low-pressure machines), +40 to +45ºC (High-pressure machines also used for spray).
- Component pressure:100–150 bar (High-pressure injection machines), 60–110 bar (High-pressure machines also used for spray), 1–10 bar (Low-pressure machines).
Environmental conditions:
- Ambient temperature: between +10 and +40ºC.
- Relative humidity: < 85%.
Substrate conditions:
- Substrate temperature: +10 and +40ºC.
Substrate humidity:
- Porous substrates: ≤ 20% (Concrete: ≤ 5%).
- Nonporous substrates: Without condensations on substrate.
Manual processing:
- The two components should be blended thoroughly with an adequate mixer for approximately 15 seconds at a speed above 1500 rpm.
- The mixer and mixing vessels must be clean and dry.
- The mixing vessel should have an adequate shape, such that the components can be blended completely (cylindrical).
Under favourable weather conditions, the rigid spray polyurethane foam Elastopor has good adhesion to most constructions materials (concrete, brick, wood, steel). They must be clean (without dust or grease), dry, and in case of metallic substrates, free of rust.
- If the adhesion is not acceptable under these conditions, a previous treatment like a primer may be necessary.
- Nevertheless, due to the wide range of substrates and primers used in construction, it is not possible to guarantee perfect adhesion of this system to all surfaces. It is therefore recommended to test adhesion in each case.
