Description

Suited for both new footbridge builds and staircase refurbishments, our low embodied carbon d² Dura Slab Structural Stair Treads, combined with our d² Dura Slab 50 for landings, deliver a number of innovative features. Our footbridge solutions meet or exceed all listed standards, ensuring complete customer confidence.

Made from pultruded GRP, these treads are lightweight, high-strength, anti-slip, non-corrosive, and non-conductive — outperforming traditional materials like timber. While wooden treads often require frequent maintenance due to rotting and can create slip or trip hazards, our GRP treads are safe, low-maintenance, and built to last. Their single-unit construction speeds up installation, saving time and reducing costs, with no heavy lifting equipment required.

Hidden fixings minimise trip risks and create an aesthetically pleasing finish, while built-in risers act as debris shields. Optional spine supports allow for greater spans with minimal deflection, and a slight fall in the design prevents water pooling, reducing the risk of ice formation in winter. Designed for durability and convenience, our solutions ensure a safer, stronger, and more efficient installation.

2-Metre Span Capability

Unlike traditional composite treads, our GRP stair treads offer an impressive clear open span of up to 2 meters. They achieve the required 5kN/m2 at L/200 deflection, eliminating the need for additional supports in most scenarios, reducing installation complexity and cost.

Advanced Tri-Tone Grit

Our Tri-tone gritted surface provides excellent durability and performance in high-traffic areas. Independently tested to BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013, it retains 97.5% of slip resistance after 1.1 million footfalls, with an 8% improvement in wet conditions compared to our previous Dura Platform and Dura Slab surfaces.

Superior Fire Resistance

Dura Slab Structural Stairs and Landings achieve a Class B rating according to EN13501-1. Ideal for areas near powerlines or electrified zones, these non-corrosive and non-conductive footbridges provide a safe, reliable solution for replacing degraded timber treads.

Features & Benefits:

  • Anti-slip surface.
  • High strength.
  • Non-corrosive.
  • Non-conductive.
  • Lightweight.
  • Single unit construction and built-in rise allows for an easy, rapid installation.
  • Built-in fall assists with drainage and reduces pooling on stair surfaces.
  • Ongoing maintenance not required: will not rot, corrode or lose colour throughout its design life.
