Suitable for a wide range of developments, particularly cladding applications requiring a larger bearing. Z-purlins are horizontal beams that are designed to form the roof and wall joists of a building shell structure. Most commonly used in agricultural and industrial buildings.
Voestalpine Metsec Flange Z-Purlin range consists of Z-section profiles for cladding applications requiring a larger bearing. These are lightweight steel sections manufactured from pre-hot dipped galvanized steel with a Z275 coating and a minimum yield strength of 450 N/mm². Available in a wide range of sizes up to a span of 15 metres and a depth of 202–262 mm.
The product reference of a Z-section 232 mm deep and 1.8 mm thick would be 232 Z 18. The first three digits of the reference indicate the depth of the section in millimetres (i.e. 232 equals 232 mm deep). The fourth digit is a letter that signifies the profile type (i.e. Z for Z-section). The next two digits indicate the material thickness (i.e. 18 = 1.8 mm) whilst the last two digits indicate the width of the top flange (i.e. 92 = 92 mm).
