Application

Suitable applications for the Standard cable include:

  • Below raised floors.
  • Above suspended ceilings.
  • Run in drip trays.
  • Laid around the base of plant, apparatus or tank.
  • Laid in loops or wave pattern for general monitoring of larger areas.

Suitable applications for the High Sensitivity cable include:

  • Attach to underside of pipes outside the lagging.
  • Above suspended ceilings.
  • Run in drip trays.
  • Fix to soffits and ceilings to detect water ingress.

Description

Floodline Ranger 2 sensing cables detect the presence of water at any point along their length. The cables are installed with a Floodline Ranger Leak Detection Panel, and when the cable senses water, it triggers an alarm and pinpoints the exact location.


The cable is small, lightweight and flexible, allowing for easy installation. The sensor can be wetted and dried any number of times provided the cable is not contaminated with a substance that permanently changes its electrical characteristics. If the contamination is soluble then the cable can be removed, washed (clean water only), dried and returned to use subject to the level of contamination.

  • Under the harmonised European standard EN 50575 this cable has been tested for heat release, smoke production and flame spread in accordance with EN 50399:2011+A1:2016 and EN 60332-1-2:2004+A11:2016.
  • Tested under AVCP (Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance) system 3 by a notified body the cable was classified as Euroclass Dca-s2,d0 (Standard) and Euroclass Eca (High Sensitivity).
