Multi-sensors with additional sounder, voice and VAD variants suitable for internal applications. Self test functionality can be deployed in all building types to speed up testing during service and maintenance visits allowing engineers spending more time to ensure that the fire detection system is still compliant to BS5839-1. Examples where Self Test really benefits sites are:
Buildings where 24/7 operation is business critical such as Hospitals, Hotels, student accommodation where access can be difficult and disruptive to building operation.
Hard to reach devices - Lift shaft, plant rooms, ceiling voids
Residential - hard to access private housing to test detection.
High Secure applications
S-Quad industry changing S4T Series – self-test multi-sensors with sounder, voice, and VAD variants.
The integrated self-test functionality enables automated testing of both the heat and optical sensors. The patented testing method involves heating the heat-sensing thermistor and generating real aerosol (smoke) to test the optical sensor. An internal fan disperses the aerosol from the detection chamber through the smoke entry points and into the surrounding environment. This simulates a realistic fire scenario and verifies that the smoke entry points remain unobstructed and capable of detecting actual smoke, whilst also checking that the detection device has not been covered.
Each unit includes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality. When BLE is activated, the device acts as a beacon, enabling detection by mobile applications such as the CLSS app. BLE capabilities support device identification, verification of device details, and confirmation of proximity during visual inspections.
The S4T is a redesigned detector device featuring an IP21-rated external moulding, a new detector chamber design, and a dual microprocessor PCB. The updated architecture enhances smoke detection performance and increases voice storage capacity.
