Description
The Snaplock® precoated aluminium standing seam system is extensively used in Europe and the United States of America, where the system has proved itself in the extremely varied climate. The system gives an aesthetically pleasing finish whilst avoiding the industrial finishes found in other profiled seam systems. Suitable for roofing and cladding systems. Also makes an excellent durable dormer roof finish.
Features and benefits:
- Manufactured from lightweight corrosion resistant aluminium.
- Material A1 Fire Rated.
- Seams are available in 25 mm or 38 mm formats, in pre-coated aluminium which captures the colour pigments and textures of real zinc and copper cladding. It has a long life, is lightweight, is easy to work and eco-friendly.
- The Snaplock® seam system can be laid on a ventilated timber substrate, profiled metal deck, composite panel or direct on insulation, using special warm roof fixing clips.
- Snaplock® is much simpler and requires less skill/ hand tools than the traditional standing seam. The profile contains an undercloak and an overcloak – the undercloak side is fixed with a stainless steel fixing clip with the overcloak side then snapped into place.
- The system can be provided as a complete roof kit including all flashing, matching rainwater products and ancillaries.
- Resistance to cracking on rapid deformation to EN 13523-5 and ASTM D 2749: No cracking, no loss of adhesion.
- Resistance to cracking on bending to EN 13523-7 and ASTM D 870: Very good flexibility (0.5T).
- Water immersion (and humidity) resistance to EN 13523-9/ 25 and ASTM D 870/ 2247: 3,000 h.
No rust
Whether white (zinc) or red (iron), rust is a risk which must not be underestimated.
As Vestis ® will never give way to rust, the cladding can be implemented without considering the effects of surface condensate on the roof.
Warm roofs, small slopes and visible cutting are no longer a problem!

Snaplock® can be mounted on all roof build-ups, the only pre-requisite being that it is fully supported.
Suitable substructure materials:
- Ventilated 18 mm-thick weather and boil proof (WPB) plywood.
- Ventilated oriented strand board OSB3.
- Composite panel.
- Rigid insulation.
- Profiled metal deck
Underlay:
ISO-Mat Pro® underlay is recommended for cold roof applications.
ISO-Mat Metal® underlay is recommended for warm roof applications.
