Description

Strong-Span was designed specifically for balcony retrofitting. It’s channels can be used to create 6 mm drainage gaps, which can direct water toward side drainage trims.


Designed with two channels for bolting larger fixings onto steel beams. This balcony retrofit system can span up to 1200 mm even when ripped in half and has the ability to drain water. Strong-Span installation is completely clipless and works by using screws along it’s channel, which can then be hidden using inserts.

  • Strong-Span can be ripped in half whilst still remaining within structural limits at 1200 mm span.

  • Passes comfort deflection requirements of <5 mm as per BS 8579 (with a 2 kN point load). The deflection remains less than 5 mm up to spans of 1.6 m.
  • Strong-Span cut to half width (150 mm): Deflection stays under 5 mm up to spans of 1.25 m.
  • 1/80 fall recommended to prevent water settling on board.
