Suitable for use as external cladding.
Accoya® is created by modifying Radiata Pine using a non-toxic acylation process, which enhances the dimensional stability and durability. This process makes it the perfect substrate for projects which require a long-lasting factory coated finish.
It is highly recommended that the product is coated, with an opaque (solid) finish, as its dimensional stability properties ensure a clean, sound surface for coating. Virtually no shelling, cracking, checking or fissuring will occur, and the paint can be expected to last three times longer than on unmodified woods. In its natural form, the wood is a cream/ light straw colour.
Accoya boasts high durability properties, being categorized as Class 1 (by BS EN 350) – the highest possible rating for timber. The wood is virtually rot-proof, which helps to ensure that, when properly maintained, it can be expected to have a lifespan of over 100 years when subject to general outdoor exposure.
