Oktra offices Case Study

When award-winning office design company Oktra moved to its new HQ in London, Amtico’s Signature and Spacia LVT collections were chosen to create talking points in the multifunctional office meets showroom space.
PCA Predict

For PCA Predict in Worcester, the need to choose new flooring came earlier than expected.
Contemporary, sleek, practical and durable were the keywords for this flooring project. After a false start with the cork floor, Office Manager Philippa Jaine was keen to achieve a contemporary look, but one that would also be able to cope with the footfall and, most importantly, would cause minimum disruption to the staff during installation. Combining the main entrance and breakout area, the total flooring space measured 95m2.
Pendine Care Home, Caernarfon

Bryn Seiont Newydd is a 71-bedroom, state-of-the-art, purpose-built care home in Caernarfon, Gwynedd which won ‘Best New Care Home – Elderly’ at the Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.
Calming environments for residents, visitors and staff have been created in the lobby area, dayrooms and 71 bedrooms as a result. Furthermore, the whole building benefits from a high performance finish and superb durability, thanks to Amtico Spacia’s 0.55mm wear layer.
Point A Hotel

Inside Point A Hotel Shoreditch lies a contemporary interior which offers sophistication and modernity, echoed by the use of Amtico LVT flooring throughout.To maintain a refined and cultured feel, Amtico LVT flooring has been installed in all bedrooms, as well as the hotel’s social spaces, which comprise a variety of lounges and a breakfast area. Offering sophistication and modernity, the social spaces incorporate an angled staggered laying pattern with four products from the Signature collection while the bedrooms feature the Amtico First collection in a Stripwood laying pattern.
Princes Quay

Amtico provides the ‘wow’ factor at Princes Quay Shopping Centre with a highly durable design-led flooring.
Central to the brief was providing a highly durable flooring that could guarantee its performance in the face of extremely high footfall. It also needed to comprise a dynamic pattern and texture, which would be effective on a big and bold scale, catering for the extensive area.
SMW utilised the premium Signature Collection - offering a 20 year commercial warranty and laid in a bespoke ‘Basket Weave’ laying pattern.
Puma House

Puma is a German multinational corporation and the third largest sportswear manufacturer in the world.Puma decided to install Amtico Spacia Plaza Concrete across the 3300 sqm space. The combination of evenly coloured, pale greys with a smooth texture creates versatility and durability at the same time.Our Concrete product also removes the challenges presented by poured surfaces and heavy ceramics – offering instead a floor that can be laid quickly and used immediately.
Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham

Dove is Ramside Hall Hotel’s latest luxury treehouse, situated within the woodland adjacent to the 18th fairway of The Prince Bishops golf course in Durham. The rustic interiors feature Amtico LVT wood flooring from the Signature collection, chosen for its design-led aesthetics, colour palettes and durability to withstand heavy footfall, while still maintaining a fresh and new look.

Royal Albert Docks case study

Situated in East London, Royal Albert Dock is an exciting regeneration project worth £1.7bn. The new commercial district boasts 4.7 million sq ft of office, residential, retail and leisure spaces. The finished office building boasts a welcoming design with zoned areas in Amtico LVT and carpet to sensitively balance wellness in the workplace with efficiency.
Royal Albert Hall

The glamorous and newly reopened North Bar can be found on the third floor of the world famous Royal Albert Hall. This light, open and spacious venue offers stunning views over the Albert Memorial – a backdrop which also provided the inspiration for the new Amtico flooring design.
The renovation of the 100m2 floor area needed to make impact and create an eye-catching feature so a bespoke pattern was designed. It laid over the top of the original flooring to preserve it and protect from damage.
Santander

The new Santander Work Café in Jersey is the banking institution’s first major high street location in the Channel Islands. The banking space is designed to provide customers with a better experience in a comfortable and open environment and is the work of Santander’s in-house architects, Jose Miguel Perez Tallon and Ruben Sesmero Blanco. They worked with fit-out contractor Style Shopfitting, to specify Amtico Signature LVT, which was fitted by Marett Floorcraft. When considering the design for the new Work Café, Santander’s in-house architect team wanted to experiment with a new floor pattern to bring together the informal meeting and co-working spaces on the ground and first floors. Amtico produced a bespoke version of its Aspekt laying pattern, using shards of Signature in Worn Oak, Solar Pine and Exposed Concrete for an ultramodern and urban look to inspire visitors, create specific zones and link the two floors of the building. The design blends into Worn Oak, laid in Stripwood, to aid wayfinding and subtly connect different areas while complementing the colour scheme.
Sear Balcony Champagne Bar, Selfridges, Birmingham

Selfridges are renowned for their quirky and
stylish stores and this eatery and bar was no
exception.
Local design firm Harrison were tasked with updating an existing restaurant, working closely with Selfridges’ in-house team to create a haven in this busy department store.
Andrew Kirk, Harrison’s lead designer on the project, commented, “Amtico was a product chosen by the in-house team as it has been tried and tested in other stores throughout the UK.
Smeg HQ, Oxfordshire

The Smeg UK headquarters in Abingdon is home to an impressive showroom, which displays more than 500 of the brand’s appliances for both trade and consumer visitors.When Smeg set about refurbishing the showroom, it wasn’t just in need of hardwearing and durable flooring to replace the existing curled loose lay tiles. The space also needed a beautiful design to complement the brand’s many product collections on display; enter Amtico with a contemporary alternative. The redesign saw the main areas of the showroom fitted with Spacia LVT in Sun Bleached Oak and Gallery Concrete.
Southbank Chapter Student Accommodation

South Bank Chapter comprises a range of design-led apartments and stunning social spaces. A selection of premium Amtico First LVT flooring was specified to create modern and stylish spaces in all the bedrooms and studio apartments, as well as provide a high-end finish.
South Bank Chapter is situated in an artistic, cultural and inspiring community near the world famous London South Bank. With an area rich in art just moments away, the interior design of the property needed to reflect the local culture.

When Tenpin decided to reconfigure the
layout of its leisure complex in Hounslow and embark on a complete refurbishment of the premises, it was in need of practical flooring that could cope with a high level of footfall, and was also available in a vibrant selection of colours.
The Collective Old Oak

Comprising 546 rooms in total, most of the space is divided into 'twodios' - two en-suite bedrooms that share a small kitchenette. Old Oak also includes a range of dedicated communal facilities and spaces including a restaurant, library, lounge and spa, where they have used a selection of natural, warming tones including Parisian Pine, Cellar Oak and Aged Timber. All of these areas are designed to bring people together: from quiet spaces to work in, through to open spaces for socialising.
The Cotgrave Hub

First impressions count, which led to Amtico Signature being used throughout The Cotgrave Hub – a brand new, state-of the-art building located in the heart of the borough of Rushcliffe. Part of an extensive redevelopment of the local area, the multipurpose facility brings together GP services, a pharmacy, the community voluntary service, a library and Nottinghamshire Police all under the same roof.
The Grange Primary School

The Grange is a public primary school in
Banbury, Oxfordshire, which educates over
three hundred children between the ages
of four and eleven. With so many students,
the school needed a durable flooring

The Royal Hotel Randwick, Sydney

One of Sydney’s leading suburban hotels. The Royal Hotel Randwick is a historic building that was built by Thomas Browne in 1887 to serve the growing settlement, and which has now been heritage-listed by the National Trust of Australia.Fumed Oak from our Signature collection was used throughout the dining area in a Herringbone Plank laying pattern.

Tullamore

The Tullamore Court Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Ireland’s picturesque countryside. The 4* accommodation offers its patrons leisure facilities, rooms, a 20-metre swimming pool, a bistro, a bar and a restaurant, which was in desperate need of renovation. The hotel’s main restaurant hadn’t been updated since the late 90s, so interior design practice Helen Casey Design Associates (HCDA) was called upon to bring the space into the 21st Century. HCDA chose Gingham, a predefined colour and pattern combination from the Amtico Designers’ Choice Collection.
Udo Walz hair salon

In hairdressing, besides a professional service, a pleasant atmosphere is essential for customers and employees to be happy. Top German stylist Udo Walz’s new Berlin salon, radiates a modern, unmistakable look full of charm and sophistication.
350sqm were covered with Chateau Oak from the premium Signature collection in XL size planks. Bigger, bolder details sit proud amongst the rich, smoky tones of Chateau Oak, exuding strength and sophistication. Signature also has a 1mm thick wear layer, which makes it extremely wear-resistant and therefore perfect for high-traffic areas.
University of Bristol

Beacon House is a landmark 1850s Grade II listed building in Clifton, Bristol. Acquired by the University in 2014, it has undergone a complete redevelopment, transforming it into a state-of-the- art central study and learning hub with a new public reception point for the University, and a stylish café.
Amtico Signature finishes were chosen not only to be exciting and attractive, but also highly durable, slip resistant (R10 classification) and allow Beacon House’s staff to easily clean the areas, with a simple schedule to maintain the flooring’s high visual impact.

Viking Line Cruise

Viking Line is one of the market-leaders in passenger transport on the northern Baltic Sea. The company runs passenger, leisure and freight transport services on its seven vessels.
When the passenger ferry ‘Cinderella’ was due for a refit, including the laying down of new floors, Amtico Marine was chosen for the wide range of designs and sizes. Pale Maple was chosen for the crew’s canteen, a light wood design to create a warm atmosphere. Ceramic Frost and Linear Metallic Jewel were combined in different parts of the duty-free shop.
Wentworth Garden Centre case study

When designing the new venue for Wentworth Garden Centre, proprietor David Airey sought to create a relaxed, lived-in feel for The Bothy, opting for Amtico Signature LVT for its noise-reducing qualities over ceramic tiles. Influenced by Victorian glasshouse-style flooring, David was introduced to Amtico’s in-house design team, by flooring contractor Contract Floors (Sheffield) Ltd, to develop his ideas into a timeless, high-end scheme featuring four patterns from the Designers’ Choice collection.
World Trade Centre Marseille

The World Trade Centre in Marseille is
a multi-functional office space with a
conference and business centre.
With a daily footfall of almost 1000 people spread over the 2500m2 of the
convention centre and 600m2 of the business centre, the new space at City Center Vieux-Port underwent a redesign
and renovation to accommodate a busy
office environment.
