The Warwick School is undergoing a major transformation. It has a brand new school building, and as of September 2021, it will have a brand new logo, uniform and name, Carrington School. Kerry, the headteacher, talks about the old buildings in Surrey Live, “they were dilapidated. They were dark, small, in some places the heating didn’t work properly. They had just run out of steam, and over the years of thousands of students going through them, they needed some care and attention.” The new teaching block is made up of 22 classrooms, a dining space, a social area for students to relax in and a sports hall. This makeover and expansion have helped the school to increase its GCSE range.The new name derives from Richard Carrington, an astronomer who built Redhill Observatory in 1852. It was there that he carried out pioneering investigations on solar flares and devised a system for numbering complete rotations of the sun, still in use today. Some of the secondary school students live in Redhill streets which carry his name.Helmsman is extremely happy to have manufactured, supplied and installed laminate school lockers. These are in the new building over two floors. The four-compartment lockers have provided storage for 157 students. These laminate school lockers have sloping tops and end panels to keep the lockers secure from vandalism and to keep them clean. During the install, these lockers were bolted together side by side and to the walls for safety purposes. We used Abet Laminati for the doors. The school chose beautiful colours of aubergine, tones of grey and others colours to make these lockers stand out and to match the modern feel around the building.Installation of standard school lockers of 1775 height by 300 widths and 450 depths with the standard swivel locks decorate the new building. Swivel locks have two functions: Locking with a padlock, and it can also be used as a handle to open/close the locker. Each compartment has an oval laminated number plate. Helmsman two compartment heavy-duty lockers were supplied, delivered and installed by Helmsman professionals in Trowse Primary School corridors. Bespoke specification of 1600mm height and a range of different door colours were chosen to brighten up this primary school. Each compartment door was fitted with an oval laminated number plate, from 1 to 60 twice. Blue and grey themed lockers were fitted on the first floor, while green and grey themed lockers were fitted on the second floor to split the floors. Diamond swivel locks were fitted on the lockers for an easy use and the pleasing aesthetics.

Meadows Business Park is undergoing a major repositioning, providing modern working for a post covid-19 world. With 3 refurbished buildings positioned in landscaped grounds, providing workspaces, offices, central café, gym, cycle storage and showers. Located next to Blackwater Railway station, tenants of Meadows Business Park can enjoy pop up shops, street food markets, walks around the 100 acre shepherds meadow and even Peloton bikes, as well as a range of classes in the gym.As part of the refurbishment of these buildings, we worked alongside OD Interiors to manufacture and install the lockers and bench seating for the cycle storage and shower areas. As part of the project, we provided 22 wet specification Laminate Z Lockers for the male changing rooms, 22 wet specification Laminate Z Lockers for the female changing rooms and bench seating for both changing areas and the cycle storeroom.The stunning Laminate Z Lockers were manufactured with an aluminium body, stainless steel door frame and Abet Laminate doors. The colours chosen were Mountain Oak and Ice White from Abet’s range of laminate colours. We work with a variety of suppliers of laminate, allowing us to offer a large selection of colours and finishes, from carbon-neutral options, wood effect styles, through to bright pops of colour.In each changing room, 13 of the 22 Z Lockers were fitted with seat stands, with the remaining 9 lockers fitted to stands. The frames for the stands and seat stands are powder coated in RAL colour white, with the seat slats in Mountain Oak laminate to match the locker doors. To keep the project slick and uniform, the end panels, infills and the cladding to hide the stands are in the Ice White laminate, also matching the doors.The locks chosen for the project were the Digilock Versa Keypad locks. These are a great choice for both assigned, or shared use, and so were perfect for the shared changing rooms at Meadow Business Centre. We worked alongside Eos Interior Ltd, and our team manufactured and installed 34 Z lockers with bench seating. The Laminate Z lockers were wet specification which is ideal for environments that have humidity. Our Z lockers are an excellent choice as it is a small footprint but with maximized internal space.The measurements of the Z lockers were 1800mm high, 300mm wide, and 450mm deep, along with the seat stands with the measurements of 300mm by 450mm. More than ever, there is a high demand for childcare with high expectations of good quality facilities, educational classes, new technology and a food court. Kidz#1 provides fun all year round for kids 0 to 12 years old. They re-opened its doors again on the 17th of May 2021, following the ease of lockdown in the UK. To keep high standards, Kidz 1 carried out some works and requested new fun lockers from Helmsman. We supplied Kidz 1 with a variety of bespoke metal lockers for different areas. We provided a bespoke size of 2100mm x 300 width x 450 depth flat-top metal lockers with six compartments of 24 lockers. These lockers specifically installed to spell out Kidz#1 for branding purposes and bring a fun aspect to the locker area. Chosen colours were shades of blue, pink and orange to reflect the brand identity. Another nest of three essential metal lockers manufactured and installed in a standard size of 1775mm x 300 width x 450 with two compartments. All lockers had number plates and cam locks for ease. Helmsman manufactured and supplied extra three modular lockers in 525mm x 300 width x 450 depth. These modular lockers are in white and oak-like laminate doors with hasp locks. Kidz 1 also needed to replace a bench and ordered a new ash hardwood bench seating which, is 2000mm long. Overall we supplied approximately around £5,000 worth of lockers and benching, including installation and delivery services.

here at Helmsman, our team manufactured and installed 33 two-compartment bespoke lockers for this project to accommodate 66 employees. The specifications of the metal lockers were 2100mm high, 460mm wide and 600mm deep. The lockers were requested to be manufactured with a shelf 180mm high within each compartment, additionally, clients asked for the lockers to be left and right-hand openings meaning the locks were installed in special positions.The metal locker carcasses and doors were powder coated in a range of blues: ‘Violet Blue’ and ‘Brilliant Blue’ which are non-standard colour charts. The Two shades of blues create a beautiful combination, that co-ordinates well.The lockers were completed with Lehmann Giro Ta lock in ‘Black’ which is a great lock option for both assigned or shared use, as it assures the users that their belongings are safe and secure whilst being at work. The bespoke metal lockers were finished with stainless steel numbers in Arial font.

For this project, Our team manufactured and installed 278 four-compartment metal lockers. The school requested for essential school lockers with stands and sloping tops. Metal lockers with sloping tops are ideal for schools as they prevent students from storing items on top of the lockers, reducing hazards and stopping clutter and dust collecting. 

For this project, our team manufactured and installed 436 four-compartment school metal lockers, to accommodate 1744 students. The specifications of the metal school lockers were 1925mm high, 300mm wide and 450mm deep. The metal lockers are a fantastic choice of lock as they are hardwearing and designed. The body was manufactured with mild steel which was powder coated in our standard metal colour chart ‘Ice, whereas the mild steel doors were powder coated in ‘Smoke’ and ‘Blackpool’ to represent the school colour scheme, creating an aesthetic design within the new school.The school lockers were requested to be finished with thermographic numbering and swivel latch locks, which allowed the students to use their own padlock to store personal items during the day. Additionally, the metal lockers were completed with sloping tops.
