THE PROJECTThe Torre Koi in Mexico is the second tallest building in Mexico standing at a huge 917 ft. The tower is in San Pedro Garza Garcia, part of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. The building acts as the centrepiece of four buildings. When the project finished it was the tallest building in Mexico, but the Torres Obispado surpassed the Koi in 2020.VFO Architectos, based in Mexico City, designed, and oversaw the architecture for The Torre Koi. With a mixture of office and residential the skyscraper features 63 floors, 218 apartments, 18 penthouses and 26 floors of commercial office space.THE SOLUTIONThe Safety Letterbox Company was approached by ‘Interni Design Studio’, the interior designers, in charge of the materials for the social areas in the tower. Their requirements were for mailboxes for the residents, with the added requirements of security, efficiency and to be aesthetically pleasing.Quantity requirements and available dimensions were provided to The Safety Letterbox Company, along with design ideas to enable an appropriate product to be specified. The product matched the brief and ticked all the boxes Interni needed on both the practical and creative side of the project.The tower features multiple banks of MODA H 300 mailboxes, fitted to a jet-black support table so they sit freestanding within the mailroom. With a stainless-steel front and a jet-black body these stylish, sophisticated mailboxes really deliver in this incredible skyscraper!

The company offers some of the most luxurious properties in the student market supported by exceptional service and a commitment to service and customer engagement.The numerous VITA Student projects we have manufactured mailboxes for have wall recessed the banks of MODA Mailboxes. Wall recessed mailboxes maximise available space in the area of installation and ensure that all health & safety requirements are achieved.The banks of mailboxes contain products finished in a variety of colours that adhere to the branding guidelines set out by the design team at VITA Students. THE PROJECTThe Claycroft Halls of Residence at The University of Warwick has selected a Salto electronic mailbox solution manufactured by The Safety Letterbox Company to replace existing mailboxes. The Estates Manager at the University decided to integrate the Salto Mailboxes into the campus to handle Claycroft’s student mail in a secure and controlled environment.These mailboxes will protect against mail theft and identity fraud, provide increased security and access control to individual mailboxes with full traceable entry. This eliminates the need and expense of having to reissue replacement keys to students as they will be able to operate and access their mailbox with their existing student ID card and room key.The mailboxes will be integrated with the existing SALTO access control system which is already in place across campus and follows on the universities recent installation of Salto mailboxes in the Sherbourne residence.

THE PROJECTThe Waterside Park project features multiple banks of a fire rated mailboxes that comply with the BS 476 Part 22 offering a one hour integrity rating that will ‘contain and form a break to a fire’.The bank of mailboxes are recessed into a wall and integrated with a finishing surround frame providing a high quality edging to the products, hiding any gaps between brick and mailbox and ensuring a high quality finish.The mailboxes feature an inward sprung flap, which is a standard feature across the fire rated mailbox range. An intumescent strip is placed on the internal side of the mail flap, which expands when the temperature increases and ensures that the flap is kept closed – stopping the oxygen flow into the mailbox and reducing the risk of fire spreading through the mailbox.Each mailbox used in this project has been fitted with a unique identification numbering vinyl with a black colouring to easily show the users (both residents and postal operatives) where each mailbox is situated.

The Project:Hockley Mills is an exciting new mixed-use development located in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. This development features 390 residential apartments, uniquely designed landscaped courtyard spaces, and 28,000 square feet of commercial space. Additionally, it includes a new entrance to Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter train station, enhancing accessibility for residents and visitors alike.Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd enlisted The Safety Letterbox Company to supply 404 mailboxes for the main lobby area, internal lobbies, and stairwells, aiming to further enhance the functionality and appeal of the development for its residents.The Challenge:  The architectural design of Hockley Mills required a custom mailbox solution featuring a specially engineered support structure to integrate seamlessly within the wooden frame surrounds. THE PROJECTPoplar Riverside is an exciting new regeneration project located on the picturesque banks of the River Lea in East London. This modern development offers a diverse collection of luxurious riverside apartments, including studios, one, two, and three-bedroom units available for both private rentals and shared accommodation. Residents are provided with their own private outdoor spaces and access to a beautifully landscaped 2.5-acre riverside park, enhancing the overall living experience with a touch of nature and serenity.To complement the high-end design and architectural vision of Poplar Riverside, JA Stott Carpentry Limited and St William enlisted The Safety Letterbox Company to create a bespoke mailbox system. Our task was to design and supply mailboxes that not only met the practical needs of the residents but also seamlessly integrated with the development’s aesthetic and contributed to the overall elegance and functionality of the space. THE LOCATIONThis incredible luxury development is situated on the site of the Royal Mail Group Depot, Sorting Office, Postal Museum, and the Royal Mail private underground railway network. A very significant project for us to be involved in not only for the relevance of Royal Mail but also because SLB manufactured and installed the Mount Pleasant sorting office mailboxes on this site over 20 years ago.THE PROJECTThe Postmark sits on a 6-acre land which provides 681 new homes and 20,000 sq. commercial space that includes a cinema room, relaxing lobbies, a state-of-the-art gym, and a roof terrace that looks over Farrington.THE PRODUCTThe Safety Letterbox Company supplied two different mailbox types for The Post Mark. After considering the specifications and the design of our projects, the Interior Designers chose the Tile mailbox and the FR2 mailbox.The Tile mailbox is a unique model in many ways, boxes sit snugly next to each other due to the innovative SLB developed hinge mechanism, allowing doors to open in their own space, hence the Tile appearance, other usual features are removed to simplify its appearance with a slot rather than a letter flap. The mailboxes also showcase our Vitreous Enamel finish. Vitreous Enamel is a thin layer of glass fused at a high temperature onto the metal surface. This is the perfect finish for our Tile mailboxes as it gives the product a bespoke finish. This Tile mailbox is an in-front/out-front horizontal product making it safe and secure for the residents in the building. The Tile Mailbox is very versatile in colour options too, on this project, the Interior Designers required the mailboxes to be the same colour as the wall which was Polaris Blue (RAL 1649).The other mailboxes The Safety Letterbox Company supplied for this project were FR2, a 2-hour fire-rated mailbox that is suitable for horizontally storing A4-sized mail for both front entry and front retrieval. The Fire Rated 2 mailbox has been developed to restrict the spread of fire for up to two hours only and if recessed into a fire-rated wall, will maintain the integrity of the fire-rated wall for up to two hours. FR2 is the perfect mailbox solution when placed in the main emergency exit.The FR2 is customisable, and The Postmark wanted a similar product to The Tile mailbox but with extra safety precautions. The FR2 mailboxes were all recessed and banked 3 high by 7 wide with the same Polaris blue colour making the mailboxes blend into the wall. The Post Mark also wanted to make the mailboxes practical for their residents, so they added a standard engraving with black infill.

THE LOCATIONThe Westminster Quarter is a luxury Build To Rent apartment building just a few minutes away from the Abbey and Houses of Parliament. A home in the heart of history. The building is primarily faced with buff brick to complement the existing buildings in the neighbourhood.THE PROJECTThe project was split into two buildings. One seven-storey building and a five-storey building that fits in 102 luxury apartments. The development has a private outdoor space with a rooftop terrace that has a perfect view of the city. The building features floor-to-ceiling windows that let lots of natural light in.THE PRODUCTThe Safety Letterbox Company worked alongside interior designers to create a mailbox that had a high-end look and that was practical and completely secure for their residents. There were a few options presented by The Safety Letterbox Company and the client chose the model COM2, an in-front, out-front horizontal mailbox. Manufactured from aluminium extrusion and steel, lockable, accepting A4 mail and is easy to bank and can be recessed, surface mounted or freestanding internally or externally.The mailboxes were powder coated in a Regency Gold colour with a trim of lighting around the mailboxes, making them the focal point in the room and adding a high-end aesthetic statement whilst being practical and secure for the residents. The mailboxes were arranged in a 3 high x 8 wide bank, complete with an angle trim.

The challengeThe Brickyard is a striking new development in the heart of up-and-coming East Ham. This development needed an aesthetically pleasing 120 minute fire rated mail and parcel solution that complimented the buildings interior design. The residents were already receiving high volumes of parcels, and the development needed a secure and futureproof solution to handle the growth of parcel delivery.Our approachWorking closely with Populo Living, the design team, architects, and interior designers, we created a perfect solution for this development. We manufactured, supplied and installed our 120 minute fire rated mailboxes along with our 120 minute fire rated intelligent parcel lockers, myRENZbox. Both products were supplied in RAL 5003 Sapphire Blue, complimenting doors and buildings aesthetics. All products were seamlessly wall recessed flush fixed. Our FR2 mailboxes have been tested by Warringtonfire to BS EN 1363-1:2012 which means they perfectly meet the requirements for the development and our 2-hour fire rated intelligent parcel system, myRENZbox, futureproofs this development from the ever-growing parcel influx.The benefitsResidents of this development can now conveniently and safely access their mail and parcel deliveries 24/7, with efficient use of technology. The fire rated mailboxes are recessed into the walls allowing the walkways to remain clear and can maintain the walls integrity for 120 minutes, therefore preventing spread of a fire, allowing residents time to evacuate in an emergency.The development has taken full advantage of our 2-fire rated myRENZbox intelligent parcel lockers. Allowing safe and secure parcel storage, full traceability of deliveries and 24/7 access to residents. With the ability to hold back or contain a fire for 2 hours the system also ensures parcels have a home and prevents obstructions, fire hazards and parcel theft. Full traceability via the portal and app ensures carriers and residents are automatically communicated to via the platform.Dealing with the constant stream of parcels can be a full-time job so this intelligent parcel system will also free up staff time. Our parcel lockers are accredited to IASME IoT Cyber Assurance Level 2, the highest level of cyber security certification giving residents and building managers peace of mind that their data is secure.
