Application

Recommended for sealing structural floor joints, parapet wall joints, concrete roadways and pavements, hard standing floor pads, concrete sea walls and joints in water retaining (non drinking water) structures. 

Description

A two-part, polysulphide sealant, for floor expansion joints.


Features and benefits:

  • Not recommended for very heavily-trafficked areas.
  • Resistant to most alkalis and dilute acids, petrol, diesel, jet fuel, and many solvents and vegetable oils.
  • Very good UV resistance.
  • Correctly applied, the sealant should not require maintenance, and has an anticipated life in excess of 20 years.

Application temperature

+5 to +50°C.

Curing time

7 days at 20°C.

Joint width

6 mm (minimum); 25 mm (maximum); 50 mm (multiple applications).

Guidance for specification option:

Joint depth:

  • Porous substrates: 10 mm minimum (12 mm for floors); 25 mm (maximum).
  • Non-porous substrates: 6 mm minimum (12 mm for floors); 25 mm (maximum).


Backing

A combined joint filler/ bond breaker, such as closed cell foam polyethylene rod, should always be used to ensure that the sealant adheres only to the joint faces and not to the back.

Guidance for specification option:

Bond breaker tape should be used where the joint has been packed out with fibre-board.

Primer

Specify Arbo AG2PP (Porous Primer) for brick, concrete, stone, stained timber.
