Application

Suitability for Armourcoat clay lime plaster

  • Suitable for seamless internal application to walls and ceilings.
  • Suitable for well ventilated areas exposed to moisture, but not suitable as a waterproof finish.
  • Can be applied directly to any stable, firm substrate that is ready for decoration such as plastered or rendered masonry (block, brick or concrete), taped and skimmed boards such as plasterboard and GRG (glass-fibre reinforced gypsum), plasterboard surfaces prepared with Armourcoat Anti Crack skim coat, single sheet 18mm primed MDF.
  • Substrate must adhere to a tolerance of +- 1 mm/600 mm or +-3 mm/1800 mm.
  • Suitable for existing painted walls and ceilings provided the paint is well-adhered to the substrate.
  • Not suitable for papered surfaces.
  • Also available on pre-manufactured, ready to hang panels.


Materials and number of coats:

  • Plasterboard substrates to be prepared with gypsum skim coat and sealer or taped, jointed and sealed by others.
  • On unprepared plasterboard: Armourcoat AntiCrack skim coat plaster (typically 3–5 mm) applied by trowel.
  • System build-up comprising three-four coats (approximate total ~2 mm).

Description

Armourcoat Clime Coarse is a natural clay and lime plaster with a coarse, matte stone texture.


It is a naturally sustainable wall finish made from abundant raw earth materials such as unfired clay, limestone and recycled marble. It is a durable, breathable and sustainable wall finish that has been responsibly developed to maximize longevity, well-being and aesthetics whilst minimizing environmental impact.


It is water vapour-permeable and as such is suitable for traditional plastered masonry, including historic buildings.

AntiCrack is a preparatory product that removes the need to use a gypsum skimcoat or tape and joint unprepared plasterboard walls.
