Application

Impermeable paving systems.

Description

The BS 7533-compliant impermeable paving system consists of the following products: Parex Fine Bedding Concrete (FBC), Parex Bond Plus Mortar, Parex Granatech, Parex Granatech 40 Fine and Sikagard-790 All-In-One Protect.

Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect:

  • A protective impregnation that is designed to protect ALL types of porous mineral substrates against the penetration of water based liquids and oils, and to prevent or significantly reduce staining of these materials.
  • It does not form a film on the surface and therefore it is completely invisible.
  • It allows the each-way diffusion of water vapour and as a result the treated structures and surfaces retain their normal hydrothermal and hygric behaviour.

Parex Bond Plus Mortar:

  • A one-part, cementitious, polymer enriched adhesive for the priming and bonding of paving units. The highly specialised mix design includes powerful plasticising agents which, combined with the polymers, produce a slurry (or scrub-coat) consistency that is easily applied by brush or trowel.
  • When used with Parex Fine Bedding Concrete (FBC), Parex Bond Plus Mortar promotes adhesion and complies with, or exceeds, the adhesive bond strength requirements of the relevant parts of BS 7533.

Parex Fine Bedding Concrete (FBC):

  • A cementitious, polymer reinforced, single-component mortar for the placing and bedding of paving units. The mix design includes powerful plasticising agents which produce a workable mortar, suitable for bedding slabs, pavers and setts. The low water requirement enables the placed mortar to rapidly develop the compressive strength required to support the placed paving elements.
  • It is an integral member of the Parex/ Sika Streetscape Range, and is designed specifically to conform to the relevant parts of BS 7533, ensuring performance and longevity. It should be used in conjunction with Parex Bond Plus Mortar to ensure sufficient bond strengths are achieved; and Parex Granatech, to provide a fully compliant bedding and jointing system for hard landscaping projects.

Parex Granatech 40 Fine:

  • A high strength, low modulus mortar developed in response to demands from contractors for a cost-effective material purpose made for pointing of natural stone and concrete paving units. It is designed for use with Parex Fine Bedding Concrete and Parex Bond Plus Mortar to allow the rapid opening of paved areas after 24 hours.
  • The mortar is specially formulated to meet the requirements of architects and engineers requiring compliance with the relevant parts of BS 7533.
  • Can be applied speedily over large areas for effective jointing of all paving units, providing quick and cost-effective jointing when laying wherever there is a large proportion of jointing material to paving unit.

Parex Granatech:

  • A one-component, high strength, shrinkage compensated, low modulus mortar developed in response to demands from contractors for a cost-effective material purpose-made for pointing of natural stone and concrete paving units.
  • The mortar is specially formulated to meet the requirements of architects and engineers requiring compliance with the relevant parts of BS 7533.
