Extensive green roof system with sedum or wildflowers and grass.

Once established Extensive green roofs require little maintenance.

Comprises:

  • HPS 2.5 protection fleece;
  • FCP20 drainage and filter layer;
  • Extensive green roof substrate OR Wildflower substrate;
  • Sedum blanket OR wildflower blanket.

HPS 2.5 protection fleece:

  • Thick, needle-punched nonwoven geotextile manufactured from 100% virgin polypropylene high tenacity fibres containing 1% active carbon black.
  • Optimized for maximum strength and performance – not mass.
  • Available in wide widths to allow for minimal construction costs – up to 6 m.
  • Manufactured from a unique blend of high tenacity fibres providing class-leading durability • 100% virgin polypropylene fibres for guaranteed durability.
  • Carbon black for UV stability.

FCP20 Cuspate Geocomposite:

  • 20 mm, HDPE, punched, cuspated drainage board with a geotextile filter/ separator bonded to a single side.
  • Designed to provide an irrigation and drainage system for green roofs.

Extensive Sedum substrate:

  • Greenwaste compost 80%
  • Crushed mineral fines 20%
  • Slow release organic based fertiliser with additional micro-nutrients

• It contains a pH modifier, a wetting agent, its free draining, low levels of organic nutrients

• Its light, friable and easy to use for both manual and mechanical installations

Wildflower turf:

The turf is made up of UK native and naturalised wildflowers and grasses, with a minimum of 75% wildflowers.

Can be provided in 20 kg degradable or non-degradable sacks or loose in 1 or 2 m³ bulk bags (equating to 10 m² or 20 m² laying amounts when installing at manufacturer's recommended depth) or loose in bulker trucks depending on volume required.

  • Typical weight: 400 kg per 1 m³ bag.
  • Typical bulk density: 350 g/L.
  • Typical moisture content: <40% volume.
  • Recommended depth: 100 mm.

Extensive substrate: designed to be a lightweight, water controlling material with a lower organic material content to support hardy vegetation.

Manufacturer's standard. Seed specification: 20% grass; 80% flowers.
