A Fire Damper is used to prevent fire and reduce smoke spreading from one compartment to another through the air ductwork system which may penetrate fire separating walls and floors.

Duct connection | Mandik FFDM breakaway joint. Guidance for specification option: FFDM allows a breakaway connection between a duct and fire damper according to DW/145. The FFDM is a flanged breakaway joint with a plastic pad which will melt at 80°C, allowing the duct to break away from the damper and ensure the dampers integrity is maintained.
