Application

Suitable for use in separating floor/ ceiling construction in conversion, refurbishment and new build developments.

It is suitable for appropriate domestic, commercial and public building projects where the objective is to reduce impact and airborne sound transmission.

Description

The HD1048 Hush Mat 15 MF acoustic system combines high performance insulation materials to provide a thin acoustic floor/ ceiling solution with excellent properties. It is suitable for conversion, refurbishment and new build developments.

Key to the system’s effectiveness is the bonding of Hush Mat 15 to an 18mm chipboard deck to create the floor structure. Under the floor and joists structure is a void which allows for a high grade absorber - Hush Slab 100 – to be fitted before the Hush MF ceiling system. This void can also be used to accommodate services.

As a fully tested, economical system, HD1048 complies with all relevant UK Building Regulations relating to the passage of sound within buildings - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland).

How the HD1048 acoustic system is formed:

  • Hush Mat 15 bonded to the timber structure using the Hush Contact Adhesive.
  • Suitable floor finishes can then be installed over the Hush Mat 15 with the correct installation guidance.
  • The timber deck over the joists can be the original floorboards or a 18mm/22mm T&G chipboard/plywood deck.
  • The Hush MF system is installed to the underside of the joists creating a minimum 150mm void from the underside of the joists to the back of the plasterboard lining.
  • Hush Slab 100 Sound Absorber is fitted tightly together within the ceiling void.
  • A double plasterboard layer is attached to the underside of the Hush-MF system. The plasterboard lining should consist of 19mm Plasterboard Plank and 12.5mm Soundbloc.
  • All perimeters are sealed with the Hush Acoustic Sealant prior to skimming.

Features and benefits:

  • Building Regulations Approved Document E (England & Wales), Technical Handbook Section 5 (Scotland) and Technical Handbook G (Northern Ireland) compliant.
  • A thin floor and ceiling construction that complies to all UK Building Regulations.
  • A thin floor solution providing excellent acoustic performance.
  • Services can be run within the Hush MF Ceiling System.
