Application

The ILTDU, In-line Thermal Disinfection Unit, facilitates regular thermal disinfection of water system outlets (including downstream thermostatic showers, mixing valves or thermostatic taps) using available, system temperature, hot water supply.

For optimal DWS health and efficiencies, Horne recommends thermal disinfection be undertaken in conjunction with elevated velocity flushing of the upstream supply pipework to effectively remove and manage excess pipework biofilm.

Suitable for domestic water supplies of institutional environments, including healthcare, education, prison accommodation and sport and leisure facilities, to assist with protection against Pseudomonads, Legionellae and other waterborne pathogens.

Description

The In-Line Thermal Disinfection Unit (ILTDU) facilitates periodic high temperature thermal disinfection of water supply pipework using the readily available hot water supply.

Now the thermal regime can be extended to the point of water discharge: therefore, the wetted surfaces of all downstream components, including the TMV and the outlet fitting, can be raised to system temperature.
