For securing two leaves of a cavity wall to each other, allowing them to act as one structurally.
Application
- Light-duty wall ties (type 4) are suitable for use in domestic dwellings. Suitable for buildings with a maximum height of 10 m and cavity widths of 50–150 mm.
- General-purpose wall ties (type 2) are suitable for use in small commercial buildings and domestic dwellings. Suitable for buildings with a maximum height of 15 m and cavity widths of 50–125 and 125–150 mm.
- Heavy-duty wall ties (type 1) are suitable for most buildings in the UK of any height, with cavities up to 150 mm.
Description
For securing two leaves of a cavity wall to each other, allowing them to act as one structurally.
Features and benefits:
- Will adequately resist thermal transmittance.
- Constant drip feature to prevent moisture travelling across the cavity.
- Available with a dedicated clip to secure insulation (usually in sheet form) within the cavity.
- Tested as Type B (sound).
- Tested Types 4, 2, & 1 to BS EN 845-1.
- BBA certified 17/5462.
