Mixal MLCP - Multilayer Pipes

Valsir Mixal® system is a multilayer piping solution designed for use in potable water, heating and cooling systems. It features a five-layer pipe construction with an internal PE-Xb layer, a thick aluminium alloy core, and an outer PE-HD layer, connected by a high-performance glue, ensuring flexibility, durability, and resistance to high temperatures and pressures.

This system is suitable for surface-mounted, embedded, and pre-insulated installations in residential, commercial, public buildings, laboratories and industrial installations.

Pipe construction:

• Inner layer: Cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xb).
• Middle layer: Aluminium alloy (oxygen barrier).
• Outer layer: High-density polyethylene (PE-HD).

Performance characteristics:

• Excellent resistance to pressure and thermal expansion.
• High mechanical strength and chemical resistance.
• Low internal roughness for reduced pressure losses.
• Oxygen impermeable aluminium layer for system longevity.

Fittings compatibility:

Valsir Mixal is compatible with WRAS-approved press-fitting ranges:

1. Pexal® Brass Fittings (12–32 mm):
   • Brass body with stainless steel sleeve.
   • Multi-profile compatibility: H, TH, U, C, VAL.
   • Leak-detection-press function for safety.
   • Tamper-proof design.
2. Bravopress® PPSU Fittings (16–32 mm):
   • Made from high-performance PPSU technopolymer.
   • Excellent resistance to corrosion and chemicals.
   • Leak detection function and tamper-proof construction.
   • Multi-crimping compatibility.

Installation features:

• Compatible with standard pressing tools.
• Fast installation thanks to the bendable pipes and pre-insulated pipe coils.
• Supports water testing prior to full commissioning.
• Leak detection capabilities enhance quality control.

Pre-insulated pipe options:

• Available in red, blue, and grey outer jackets.
• Fire-rated insulation (B-s1, d0 according to EN 13501-1).
• Insulation thicknesses: 6 mm to 25 mm.
• Thermal conductivity: 0.037 W/m·K.

Transition fittings:

To ensure maximum versatility and compatibility with existing systems, the Valsir Mixal range includes a comprehensive suite of transition fittings for a seamless connection to metal or mechanical installations:

• Copper press fittings (M profile): secure press-fit connection with copper systems.
• Copper compression fittings: traditional mechanical compression joints.
• Copper valve adapters: transition fittings for direct connection to copper-bodied valves.
• Welded copper tails: available straight or angled, also with chrome finish for radiator or visible connections.
• Threaded fittings:
  • Male and female threaded adapters.
  • Swivel female connections for easy coupling to existing components.
