Non combustible weep
There is a Building Regulation requirement for buildings more than 11 m high to have exterior walls constructed from materials that are non-combustible.
The NonCom Beak Weep is an A1 rated non-combustible perp weep designed for use with compliant non- combustible cavity tray systems where the building envelope is required to be constructed of non-combustible materials (reaction to fire classification of A1 as defined by Commission Decision 96/603/EC and their use is unrestricted by the documents supporting the national Building Regulations).
The NonCom Beak Weep is manufactured of zinc base pressure dye casting alloy conforming with EN 1774 Standard common in the UK and European Countries. The NonCom Beak Weep trapezoid design features a discreetly hooded external discharge outlet that offers deflection protection against the increasing wind and rain pressures experienced with high-rise structures. Once built-into a naturally-occurring perp joint, the NonCom beak discreetly emerges promoting functionality with minimal visual presence.
Whilst being protected from direct wind and rain and ingress, the evacuation outlet shape promotes a further advantage of being dimensioned with the upward radiused sides to permit washed mortar sands/fines to spread and drop at the outlet, rather than converge and accumulate.
The flow route within the body of the Noncom Beak Weep is direct, with no restricting areas or pinch-points between the NonCom cavity inlet and NonCom elevation outlet. (See note 2)
