OVERVIEW
THE BRIEF
Enhancing the outdoor space
Hinton Grange is a brand-new multi-million-pound care home in Cambridge. Langley Design worked with McGoff Construction on this brand-new facility, which provides full time residential and specialist dementia care for up to 68 senior citizens.
We manufactured and installed a range of timber street furniture products to enhance the useability of the care homes outdoor spaces.
WHAT WE DID
Bespoke timber benches
Our hexagonal canopy with a tensile fabric roof is not only a distinctive feature in the courtyard but also offers shading for the residents during the summer months. As a bespoke manufacturer, we were able to provide bespoke timber benches which fit nicely inside to provide a social or dining area. Our timber pergola acts as a striking feature to the newly landscaped areas and the additional sides of cladding can offer protection from the elements.
THE RESULT
Environmentally friendly
We also installed a combination bin and cycle storage unit with a sedum roof. A green roof has many benefits for the surrounding environment. These roofs are easy to maintain, the plants absorb carbon dioxide as well as other airborne particles and release oxygen into the air. They are also a great place for insects to live.
