OVERVIEW
A charming stone-walled barn in Lanercost, skillfully converted into the kitchen extension of a new house. The internal walls were insulated with 75mm of Diathonite Thermactive cork-lime insulating plaster, allowing the plasterer to incorporate a combination of curved and square corners. This approach maintained the barn's authentic feel and eliminated the need for 150mm thick stud walls. Argatherm lime-based finishing plaster was then applied over this, and the entire surface finished with breathable paint.
