OVERVIEW
The renovation of Skelton Village Hall, led by DMB Building Ltd - Specialist Building Contractors Cumbria, marks the hall’s centenary, originally built in 1923. The renovation utilised the Retro EcoWall internal wall insulation system. The original lime plaster was preserved where possible, then Diasen thermal plaster was applied elsewhere to create a level surface for Gutex woodfibre insulation boards. A lime-based finishing plaster was then applied over these, ensuring a breathable and durable finish. The project also features other natural materials such as Thermafleece sheepswool insulation, which was installed in the ceiling. The upgrade of the hall guarantees it will remain a comfortable, energy-efficient space for the community.
