Oltco Plymouth installed a resin bound surface in the contemporary blend, Kernow Granite, as part of a wider project to create a new ‘Welcome to Plymouth’ sign.

The Brief

The client was looking for an attractive surface to add the finishing touches to a new ‘Welcome to Plymouth’ sign. It was important that the color of the solution matched the color of the surrounding stone.

The original sign which had been in place for a number of years had started to fade, therefore a new sign was required. As a result, the new surface also needed to be hard-wearing and low maintenance to ensure that the solution would last for years to come.

Our Solution

The Oltco Plymouth team got straight to work installing Oltco’s premium resin bound solution in a Corten steel sign. This steel was designed to eliminate the need for painting by forming a stable rust like appearance after several years of exposure.

The dark stone color of our contemporary color blend, Kernow Granite, was the perfect color match for the stones surrounding the sign and helped ensure that the sign was visible all year round.

Oltco’s resin bound product produces no loose chippings, leaving a smooth surface which requires very little maintenance, fitting the brief perfectly.
