Oltco Harrogate installed 500m² of Recycle Bound pathways in the traditional blend, Crantock, for Garden Harlow Carr.Situated in the Yorkshire countryside, the gardens receive around 450,000 visitors a year. Maintenance works had been taking place on site due to general wear and tear and large amounts of rain and snowfall, particularly to the previous pathways. Sustainability is a core value for the gardens, so it was important that the new surface aligned with these values in some way whilst also being durable and hard-wearing. Oltco's sustainable solution provided approximately 120 kilograms of recycled plastic materials, significantly reducing waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.

OverviewOltco Colchester transformed the exterior of Great Wigborough Church, a loved village church in Essex, with the installation of resin bound pathways in the stunning Porthminster blend.The BriefAfter being let down by other contractors, Great Wigborough Church required a company to help replace the existing concrete pathways that surrounded the church. The concrete had become unstable and unlevel and with the church having a high footfall of people traffic, it was integral for the local community that the new surfaces would help to reduce the chances of slips and trips whilst also keeping aesthetically in line with the beauty of the church.Our SolutionIn just one day, Oltco Colchester created a safe surface for Great Wigborough Church’s visitors by creating resin bound pathways surrounding the church. She required a company that could facilitate all works to an excellent standard including hardscaping, sleeper retention walls and a Resin Bound surface.Our SolutionWe facilitated all groundwork and hardscaping of the entire site, installed a 613m2 driveway in our Recycle Bound surface and a further 340m2 to the patio area in a custom blend and cleared site after all work was complete. It was important that the color of the solution matched the color of the surrounding stone.The original sign which had been in place for a number of years had started to fade, therefore a new sign was required. Oltco installed 600m2 of Recycle Bound in the color blend ‘St Ives’ for the Pears National Centre for Autism in London, improving practicality whilst also improving aesthetics.Seamless pathways and entrance ways were created by a collective of our Oltco experts. Recycle Bound is extremely durable and DDA compliant – making it perfect for all accessibility needs, whilst also rejuvenating the exterior of the building. The equivalent of 90 kilograms of recycled plastic was used for this project, with all plastic being recycle-waste plastic that was already in circulation.
