With Portrush preparing to welcome the world for The Open 2025, the highly anticipated Dunluce Lodge development required a landscape solution that was both structurally robust and visually sympathetic to the surrounding natural beauty of the Causeway Coast. Colinwell was selected to supply our Allan Block Retaining Wall System in Yorkstone, providing a modern engineered solution with a traditional aesthetic, perfect for a luxury hotel destination. Over 65m² of Allan Block Retaining Wall System in Yorkstone was installed throughout the Dunluce Lodge Hotel, delivered by Martin & Hamilton. The design had to accommodate uneven ground, stairways, corners and exposure to changing weather conditions.      Our Solution We provided a high quality, low maintenance, BBA-approved Allan Block Retaining Wall System in Yorkstone. The system offered the flexibility to meet every design requirement – using classic Allan blocks for the main structure, corner blocks for a seamless finish and wall caps. The chamfered edge delivered both an elegant finish and anti-climb safety measure.   The Result The Allan Block Retaining Wall System at Dunluce Lodge was completed on schedule, contributing to the final landscape plan that elevates the luxury experience for guests. Given the setting of Millmount the choice of external building materials was very important. Lagan Homes wanted to use products and finishes that were aesthetically pleasing, in keeping with the developments surroundings, that were also high quality, durable, maintenance free and cost effective.
