Central Bank of Ireland – NS50 Grease Management System Wall Quay, North Wall, Dublin, D01 F7X3

Taylormade Greasetrap Solutions

Project OverviewThe Central Bank of Ireland required a high-capacity grease management solution to support a major staff catering facility within their landmark North Wall headquarters. As a new building with extensive basement infrastructure, the design brief demanded full compliance with IS EN 1825 Parts 1 & 2, long-term odour prevention, and a maintenance strategy capable of working at Basement Level –2, where conventional access for pump-outs was not feasible.Key RequirementsFull compliance with IS EN 1825-1 & 1825-2Accommodation of very high food production volumesOdour-free operationLong-term ease of servicingOvercome access restrictions to Basement Level –2Safe, non-disruptive pump-out methodDeliver a large-scale NS50 system despite size constraints during installationSolution Delivered1. Custom-Designed BIOTRAP® NS50 GreasetrapTaylormade designed, manufactured, installed and now maintains a 20,000 litre NS50 BIOTRAP® system specifically engineered for the Central Bank’s catering load.2. Modular Fabrication for Basement AccessDue to the size of the NS50, the unit could not physically fit through the building’s access routes. Our engineering team redesigned the system as a four-piece modular unit, transported the sections individually, and welded the entire tank together in situ in Basement Level –2.This eliminated construction constraints without compromising structural integrity or performance.3. Innovative Access Chute for Safe Pump-OutsServicing a 20,000 L system at Basement –2 posed a significant challenge. To overcome this, Taylormade designed a dedicated external access chute, allowing waste disposal contractors to insert the suction pipe into basement 2 via this access channel. Operators open a secure access door at ground levelThe suction hose is lowered down the chuteThe full 20,000 L tank can be emptied safelyZero disruption to staff or building operationsNo pump-out vehicles need access to Basement –2This solution has become a benchmark for deep-basement grease management installations.4. Installation & CommissioningThe modular system was assembled and welded on site in 2021All pipework, access points, safety guards, controls and venting were integrated by TaylormadeThe system was pressure-tested, commissioned, and handed over with full documentationPerformance & Results (2021–Present)Since installation:Zero odour reportsZero leaks or blockagesZero performance failures100% compliance with IS EN 1825100% successful pump-outs via the access chuteNo interference with building occupants or operationsThe Central Bank facility management team have noted the simplicity of servicing and the reliability of the system despite extremely high daily catering volumes.Key Benefits DeliveredEngineered for heavy-duty commercial kitchen demandModular construction overcame major access limitationsSafe, secure pump-out method with no operational impactFully compliant with IS EN 1825 Parts 1 & 2Long-term odour and leakage preventionProven reliability in a mission-critical national facility
