CSG 10601 Overhead Tracked Bi-Folding Security Gate - Security Gate

The CSG 10601 Bi-Folding Overhead Tracked Gate is the first generation of bi-folding automated gate developed and manufactured by Cova Security Gates in the UK.

Designed specifically for applications where height and span of opening are critical, it is the largest gate in Cova’s range, capable of spanning up to 10,000mm wide and 5,000mm high.

This gate features two posts, each supporting a bi-folding leaf attached by hinges. The posts are connected by an overhead operator box, which includes an internal guide track on its underside, eliminating the need for ground guides or tracks. The operator box is cleated to and supported by an adjacent external structure, usually a building.

Each leaf is driven by a 3-phase/50Hz motor, using a spur drive gear system (18:95 ratio) with an output speed of 33 rpm, locking in both open and closed positions. Leaves can open either inward or outward, and are constructed from RHS steel sections, fully welded, with 100mm spaced vertical bars as standard. The gate can accommodate alternative or additional materials to suit specific site requirements.

A typical configuration includes a pair of bi-folding leaves, but single-leaf versions are also available. Gates can be operated by a single drive unit or individual drives for larger spans or where separate leaf control is necessary. Drives are housed within the operator box and managed via a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) located in the control cabinet.

This gate has an opening/closing speed of 4 seconds, fully programmable to allow for slower operation where required. The overhead drive and guide track system is electro-mechanical and continuously rated, suitable for high-duty applications. Safety is built in with photocells, positive contact rubber edges, light curtains, and other devices, depending on operational needs.

Designed to support special architectural appearances, the gate is frequently chosen for installations where bespoke design is required. It can be surface fixed or sub-surface mounted, and comes powder coated in any RAL colour. Bi-folding leaves can be individually controlled, offering entry and exit lane control for more complex traffic management needs.
