Application

Suitable for the separating floors in new build, conversion or refurbishment projects based on concrete structures of approximately 300 kg/m².

Description

Where sound control and insulation is required between separating concrete floors, the Hush HD1010 Hush Batten System is particularly suitable.

It is a soundproof ceiling and floor system that has been fully tested and compliant with all UK Building Regulations - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland).

Representing an economical solution where the building's separating floors are formed from concrete, HD1010 is suitable for use in projects based on concrete structures less than 300 kg/m² down to as low as 235 kg/m² mass per unit area.

How HD1010 is constructed:

  • Hush Battens are loose laid at required centres over a layer of Hush Felt 10 Resilient Layer.
  • 18 mm tongued and grooved flooring grade chipboard or plywood is then glued to the Hush Battens using Hush-Bond and sealed to all perimeters using Hush Seal 20.
  • Timber battens are fixed to the underside of the concrete at required centres.
  • One layer of 12.5 mm Gyproc Soundbloc or Fireline plasterboard is secured to the timber battens.
  • All perimeters are sealed prior to skimming.

Acoustic performance:

Impact (L’nT,w) - 56 dB

Airborne (DnT,w) - 56 dB

Airborne (DnT,w + Ctr) - 47 dB
