Description

PROMATECT®-XS is an A1 non-combustible board in accordance with BS EN 13501-1 for use with structural steelwork fire protection, and can be installed before the building is watertight. It can also be used for mezzanine floor systems to provide fire resistance of up to 60 minutes. The boards can be installed in unheated spaces without deteriorating. PROMATECT®-XS has a smooth surface and is off-white in appearance, it can be left undecorated or easily finished with paint. PROMATECT®-XS is used to provide fire protection to a wide range of steel profiles, with coverage for limiting steel temperatures ranging from 300°C to 700°C.

Promat PROMATECT®-XS can be left exposed for up to 6 months during the construction phase, subject to the following qualifications: the boards must not be left in standing or pooling water or be subjected to any water run-off from roof or slab structures above (protection can be provided by temporary waterproofing measures) and all cut edges should be sealed using FSi Promat Pyrolastic® Silicone, a fire resistant silicone, prior to installation to help prevent any long-term moisture ingress. This is particularly important when considering structural protection to perimeter/ edge beams.

The end staples are located nominally 50 mm from the corner of the board. 20 mm Promat PROMATECT®-XS: Fixing to metal angle: minimum M3.5 x 32 mm self tapping screws at maximum 300 mm centres. Fixing to Board edge : Chisel Point Staples minimum 50 x 10.5 x 1.5 mm for 15 mm boards, at maximum 100 mm centres. The end staples are located nominally 50 mm from the corner of the board.
