Pre-cultivated sedum plugs for green roofs, drought and frost tolerant, providing steady vegetative cover and ecological benefits.
Application
Systems are suitable for both new build and refurbishment. Roof pitches up to 45° can be greened but over 12° retention are required. Plugs offer instant greening solutions and the system is suitable for high visibility situations where established finishes are required.
The system weight allows for inverted system ballasting as dry weights exceed 80 kg/m². Wildflower, cornflower, herbs or perennials can be added to enhance biodiversity (growing time 8–12 months, variety dependent).
Description
Pre-cultivated propagated plugs, planted directly into the substrate growing medium. These succulent plants are drought, wind and frost tolerant and will steadily colonise the roof area providing an even vegetative cover over time. Plants are grown from UK provenance seed stock, all of which will adapt to the Sky Garden Substrate product. The broad spectrum available enables credits to be secured from BREEAM and Sustainable Home Codes under the ‘Land Use and Ecology’ section by improving the overall ecological values of the site.
