Acoustic baffles integrated with LED lighting for feature ceiling at One Avenue’s new London office

One Avenue offer bespoke serviced office spaces for businesses, currently boasting six locations across London. Their serviced offices are an alternative to a fixed lease, with guaranteed exceptional hospitality, a dedicated team of service personnel and a beautiful, unique fit out.

For their latest development ‘Farringdon’ situated in the heart of London’s booming new business district at St Johns Lane, One Avenue were looking to create a welcoming and sociable environment with world-class facilities.

While previously One Avenue buildings have been themed more traditionally, the vision for Farringdon was to create something more ‘fresh and quirky’ to match the up-and-coming location.

Engaging Fausto Rinaldi from F&R Studio for the design of the Farringdon office, Acoufelt were brought into the project to help develop a custom ceiling solution for the focal lounge and breakout space, including a kitchenette, bar, and casual seating area. Spanning approximately 70 sqm2, Fausto was looking to incorporate a feature ceiling system that would provide both acoustic benefits and mood lighting to fill the deep ceiling recesses above the lounge space.

Working under a tight 60-day turnaround for design, manufacture and install, Fausto and Acoufelt teamed up to fashion a series of curved and intersecting Acoustic Ceiling Baffles that would ultimately achieve a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.75. Slotting into the concrete coffers of the ceiling, the subtle ‘Slate’ grey baffles would complement the bold hues of the LED lighting while also acting to absorb sound and reduce echo within the open space.

Delivered and installed to the timeframe, the project was handed over, and Farringdon’s new occupants were welcomed into the space in late 2022. The clever integration of LED lighting and acoustic baffles within the feature ceiling of the breakout space will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on all who visit.
