OVERVIEW
On the top floor of Santander Unity Place building in Milton Keynes is the Sky Lounge. A space open to both Santander staff and the public, offering a seamless transition from day to night with a blend of sophistication and versatility.
The ceiling design features bespoke baffles, hand-crafted into a mix of soft curves and sharp lines, creating a dynamic sense of movement above the diners. Showcasing Acoufelt’s WoodBeQuiet™ print “Wine Barrel,” the baffles combine straight edges with flowing waves, adding visual depth and texture to the space. Complemented by luxurious furnishings and premium finishes, the ceiling design plays a central role in enhancing the lounge’s overall ambiance.
With hard surfaces such as tiled flooring and cement ceilings enclosing the space, sound-absorbing acoustics were essential to minimize excessive noise and create a welcoming atmosphere for diners. The ceiling baffles, designed with this in mind, offer an impressive Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of up to 1.65, classifying them as Class A in acoustic performance. This ensures optimal sound management, providing a quieter and more pleasant dining experience.
